Haunted by the ghosts of emotions and deeds,
Remnants of memories, now a shambles.
Ruin and rubble, with a carpet of weeds
Signs of the Devils dealings, overgrown with brambles.
Welcome! The dawn of the night,
Rejoice the retreat of light,
As it begins its cowardly flight,
Terrified of the overpowering might,
Brought to bear by the dawn of the night!
A battle of wills, steel against steel,
Neither yeilds, neither gives,
Thought versus feel,
Neither dies, neither lives!
Hail! The rising of the new moon,
Total victory to be gained soon,
It begins, the Reading of the Rune,
To complete the granting of the boon,
Made possible by the rising of the new moon!
Shards of shattered dreams cut and prick,
The ears dont hear, the eyes unseeing,
The mind and heart, reeling and sick,
With the stench unfelt by every fibre of being!
Victory, with the shining of the stars,
Venerable Venus and Magnificent Mars,
Break the cage, bend the bars!
Crush their cities and pitiful cars,
Star WarsStar Wars:
The enfolding darkness, pinpricks of light,
The diamond-fields of the Universe,
Untouchable, unreachable, unattainable,
The buzz of humanity,
The hum of technology,
Shrouded in sheer silence.
Behold the Galactic Giants!
Behold The metallic Megaliths!
Behold the Titans of titanium!
Mini-suns burn hot, blue-white,
Powering these monsters with all their might.
Protected by energy, armed with lances of light,
Whales of War, Beasts of Battle,
Skirmishing serpents, and intercepting insects,
Weaving webs of destruction in their endless combat.
Hark! The clanging klaxons, and screaming sirens!
Hark! The wild wail of these wandering worlds!
Hark! The din of death, and the symphony of silence!
Hark! The tiny twitter of triumph!
Hark! The whisper of Humanity among the stars!
five hour energyi suppose
last week was only an aftershock
of the earthquake you were before.
this place used to vibrate
with metal strings and melodic,
testimonies to life,
emitting coffee-scented moods
and the burn of it too.
i had memorized the
sounds of silence,
i couldn't help but relish it.
no longer had i known
the sounds of folk
and scent of mocha-
you became nothing more
than an echo of the laughter
i so desperately needed to hear again.
then the echoes got louder,
bouncing ferociously off the walls
to be made manifest
i walked into your room
expecting exactly what i found-
an unmade bed,
and an empty beer
(the one that you insisted you needed
just days ago).
i pressed my nose
into the pillow
for incense and cologne and starbucks
to penetrate my mind
and thinking fervently
i already know
what a clean sheet smells like."
how strong an aftershock can be,
