This started out as a model to explore working with Rhino 3D.. finally rendered using Hypershot, again to test the capabilities of Hypershot as a renderer..
Well, truth be told, I got a torrent that allowed me to use a beta version of Hypershot.. works pretty cool, but several limitations that can prove to be extremely irritating to the more serious sort of 3D modeller. For one thing, the lighting setups are fixed, the only thing you can do are rotate them around, and set their brightness. Hypershot is designed for superfast renderings, and as such doesn't provide the kinda fine control you get from other plugins, but at times, it gets the job done. For me, it was like a boon! Since I'm not a serious 3D modeller, I'm a product designer by profession, and in my business, it's important to get a good-looking render out ASAP, so..
I don't own my own studio, so can't get any of those discounts.. It's a good tool for fast work, but like I said, it has it's limitations, so you can't rely on it alone!
Very cool. I especially like the bubble and fire control chair. One complete, which is more about style then anything, Would not the glass of the bubble 'realistically' need structural reinforcement of some kind?
Realistically, yes it would. But since the concept of a "Plasma Cannon" is futuristic in the first place, I believe it should be safe to assume that material science would have advanced to a considerable degree by that time to allow this sort of construction.
Looks great.
Nicely answered.
doh... brain/finger lockup
